READ THIS BEFORE PURCHASING A MEMBERSHIP OR HEADING TO YOUR FIRST TRYOUTS

The 2016-17 has arrived, and with it lots of questions about the upcoming season.

To start, numerous athletes (and parents) have questions about what membership is needed for tryouts. In the simplest of terms: It all depends.

For families looking for more guidance about what membership they need to start the 2016-17 season, click here. This PDF explains (in a friendly “Choose Your Own Adventure” format), exactly what membership you need and how long it is good for.

After tryouts, athletes will come out with offers from clubs, and then the clock starts ticking. Here’s a quick timeline:

Oct. 1: First day girls 14 and under can tryout at Badger Region clubs.
Oct. 11: All girls 14 and under who played for the same club in 2015-16 they are receiving an offer from have until 9:01 p.m. to accept/decline their spot, or the club has the right to go to the next person on the waiting list to fill that athlete’s spot.
Oct. 13: All girls 14 and under who received an offer to play for a club for the upcoming 2016-17 season have until 9:01 p.m. to accept/decline their spot, or the club has the right to go the next person on the waiting list to fill that athlete’s spot.

Players can accept a spot in a club any time after receiving an offer until the deadlines noted above. It is encouraged that athletes let a club know their intentions ASAP. This benefits the athletes and families who will be on the waiting lists at various clubs and are waiting for the “dominoes” to fall into place.

The formal method to accept an offer is through the Webpoint registration system. The Badger Region does not recognize any other methods as the official way to accept an offer.

Just a reminder, don’t forget to bring your medical release form, concussion form and any tryout fee that the organization requires to ALL tryouts.
